Pips Away for Essex Apples!
Really excited to have added 10 new varieties to our orchard this year. Especially this super-local Grey Pippin Apple which originates from just up the river at Bures and has been planted next to our Polstead Cherries.
Also the fabulous Popes Scarlet Costard, Codlins, Lemon Pippin and I have achieved my dream of owning a Pitmaston Pine-Apple ( - the real pineapples arrive soon too). We’ve worked really hard this winter to increase the resilience of our planting and create even more edible spaces on the farm. These new orchard trees will provide shade for our animals, fantastic blossom and lovely fruit for us and the Farm Shop.
Maybe she's born with it, maybe it's Moo-belline...
If only cow slobber had anti-aging properties…
Cold noses on a cold day. Lovely.
Double trouble...
We’re trying a new bull and SURPRISE! When the bull brochure said early calving, they apparently meant ‘calves a week early’. And so a gorgeous new heifer calf appeared in the barn as if by magic. We’ll know for next time…
