Possible piglets & duck destruction

It has been a busy and beautiful autumn here in the Dedham Vale.  We have been quiet on the blog lately as we work on some exciting new projects for the farm and Mum and Dad are kept busy with the arrival of two new grandchildren - any excuse to get off the farm and visit!

On the farm, it has been a stunning and dry autumn allowing us to keep the cows out in the meadows for longer than usual.  Down in the pig pen, there's a possibility of piglets on the horizon - either that or the woolly pigs have just got a little fat!  From conversations it seems the entire village have been feeding them windfall apples which explains a lot, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed it's piglets!

In the garden, mass destruction has landed as the three adorable Aysleburys make their mark on the farm.  The terrible trio are already extremely popular with visitors to the farm shop and duck eggs are now available in the shop - terrific for baking and highly recommended for creating a beautifully light Christmas cake.

I'm not quite ready to face Christmas shopping, but one quick note before I sign off... if you haven't ordered your extra special rib or roasting beef or pork joint for Christmas, please do so ASAP to avoid disappointment.   We have some super-organised customers who started Christmas ordering in February this year!

We hope to see you on the farm soon.
