Hugely sad news. Humbug, the legendary ‘abbreviated collie’ (Collie x Jack Russell), headed to the great sunny farm in the sky this weekend.

Humbug had a love-hate relationship with most people, hated cats, children, loud noises, hot weather, wind and didn’t ever master the recall, realising early on that the effort of returning a ball or toy, or returning to his owner was highly unneccessary and a waste of energy. Despite this, he was a bundle of happy energy and believed everyone should share his extraordinary enthusiasm for everything expressed through a very waggy tail.

We know he’s currently basking in the sunshine, chasing all manner of creatures, jumping up at people, causing general havoc and throughout it all using that very waggy tail to be forgiven of all that bad behaviour! We’re planting an oak tree where he is buried - small dog syndrome in life; mighty oak for centuries to come. Rest in peace, little piglet!
