New animal back: Thursday 26th March

We’re all doing our bit to help reduce the spread of Covid-19 and protect our family and our customers.

We have a new animal back in the shop on Thursday 26th March. We will be taking orders for collection only - please click here to use our Contact Form, e-mail: shop@lowerdairyfarm.co.uk or phone us: 01206 262314.

Please note that due to demand, we will be limiting some cuts to two per customer.

If you are visiting the shop, please phone first: 01206 262314 - this will be diverted to a mobile if we are on the farm.

Further measures to help out:

  • All egg orders will be on the green table outside the back door. Collect your order in the fresh air and leave the money in the open pot.

  • Due to extremely high demand, if you want eggs, phone up. Please note we are prioritising our regulars… r-egg-ulars if you will (quarantine humour), but there will be eggs available.

The chickens, creatures that naturally panic in most situations, are not phased by this stockpiling and are laying at their own pace. Chickens lay one egg a day. Unlike other producers, we do not use artificial light to force chickens to lay more eggs - hens deserve a break too! Book up your eggs in advance!

  • If you are isolating, and want to order for collection, please phone before visiting the shop (01206 262314 - this will be diverted to a mobile if we are on the farm) and we will put your order together ready for collection.

Farmers are experts at self-isolation and we know it can be tough! We’re here if you need anything! Jenny will be keeping you updated with news from the farm, so if you need to escape into a world of cows, muck and all things Farmer Humph, head here or to our Facebook & Instagram accounts.

Stay safe! Stay positive! And be sure to check in for updates from the Farm.

Going stag!

Going stag!

It's stag beetle season on the farm.  These mighty little critters are fascinating and many hours can easily be spent watching and shepherding them to safety.  The pic below is of a female stag beetle who came out for a wander last night.  Keep your eyes peeled! If you want to spot some stag beetles, I recommend heading to Wiston Church just before dusk.  You stand a good chance of seeing them on the footpath - tread carefully!
